IoT architecture & strategy
Pick the right stack for the next five years, not the next demo. Vendor-neutral, auditable, yours to keep.
Zero46 is a vendor-neutral IoT consulting studio in Malmö. We help European utilities, industry, healthcare, and public sector teams build or rebuild connected systems they control. From first sensor to handover.
We don't sell software or resell licences. We build and run connected systems with your team, then hand them back. Most projects touch two or three of these.
Pick the right stack for the next five years, not the next demo. Vendor-neutral, auditable, yours to keep.
Getting data off the device and onto the network, reliably — even when the signal drops.
Time-series storage, event routing, and clean APIs on top. Built to scale with you.
Dashboards, alerts, and on-call we run with you — then hand over when you're ready.
The screens your team opens every morning. Focused, role-based, actually useful.
We work where uptime matters and data means something. These are the sectors we've shipped to more than once.
We're building a sensor platform for a Swedish municipality. One system, many teams: indoor climate, alarms, air quality, energy. Same data, different questions.
Where it lives, who can reach it, how you get it back if we're gone. Three questions every IoT project should answer on day one. We answer them in the kickoff.
We don't resell platforms. We don't carry partner badges. We don't have a commercial reason to recommend one stack over another. When we hand the project back, you can replace us — that's the point.
On-prem in your rack. Sovereign cloud in Europe — Hetzner, OVHcloud, IONOS. US hyperscaler if your team already runs there. Hybrid if it's both. No quota, no preferred partner, no quiet alignment.
NIS2 for critical infrastructure, DORA for finance-adjacent ops, Schrems II for anyone with personal data in the pipeline. Sensor data is operational data — it needs the same treatment, not less. We design for it from the architecture stage, not patch it in afterwards.
Every project runs the same four stages. Each one has a clear output, a set price, and a named end — so you always know where the money goes.
A precision manufacturer runs hundreds of sensors across four teams — each with different PLCs, vendors, and formats. We built one platform that pulls it all together, with a focused view for each team.

Zero46 is a small IoT consulting agency based in Malmö. Here's the short version from the person running it.

Eight years of shipping meter fleets, alarm systems, and data platforms shaped how Zero46 works. Small, senior team — the person you meet is the person who builds it, and they stay on the project from first call to handover. You won't talk to a salesperson, and you won't be passed to whoever happens to be free.
If it needs to survive production, I'd like to hear about it.
